Hi!
Kim Sullivan here! I'm the little francophone of the group -- having grown up near Montreal and spent most of my life there. I'm also the unusual one when it comes to how I got into radio!
After travelling to over 30 countries, living on 3 continents and getting 3 degrees, I became a teacher for the deaf. It was a fascinating job; as I am one to talk so much, I would spend days without talking but still communicating in sign language! Glorious! However, I think I bottled up 2 1/2 years worth of spoken word because, all of a sudden, I just felt like I needed to talk and I needed to do it for a living!! I took an intensive 4 month TV/Radio hosting class, knocked at Astral's doors in Montreal and a week later was hired! I started producing, entertainment reporting and contributing to a talk show, then became the traffic girl and finally was promoted to ''The Sulli Show'' overnight on Virgin Radio Montreal. I was so happy and I knew I had found the job I was suppose to be doing! After a year, I decided to pursue my climb in broadcasting by becoming the midday girl on CurveFM in Winnipeg (where I also discovered that -37 is a norm, not an exception!). Seven months later, the opportunity to launch a brand new station in our Capital city came knocking at my door and I could not refuse!
So here I am in Ottawa -- keeping you entertained on weekends from 9am to 3pm! You can also catch Kim's Korner weekly on the Nightcap, where I will use my globetrotting experiences to keep you informed as to what's hot in travel! I'd love to hear from you, contact me at any time at kim@ezrock.astral.com!
