Most music fans are familiar with the tragic story of folk troubadour Jim Croce, who, after years of struggling to build a career, was killed in a plane crash merely months after achieving major success with his number one single "Bad, Bad Leroy Brown." That breakthrough gives the name to this two-CD set that serves as a lovely testament to the talented (and arguably underrated) Croce. Disc one contains all ten of his chart singles, including Top Tens "You Don't Mess Around With Jim," "I've Got a Name," "I'll Have to Say I Love You in a Song," and his second, posthumous number one, "Time in a Bottle." However, even listeners only familiar with the hits will delight in the discovery of songs like the lovely "Photographs & Memories," the poignant "Hey Tomorrow," and the playful "Speedball Tucker."
