Toronto Fire and Toronto Police hold news conference on the propane facility explosions.

Dozens of explosions at a north-end Toronto propane facility near Wilson Ave. and Keele St. shook a wide area of the city.

It started just before 4 a.m. Sunday and police have evacuated the area. See below for a definition of the area being evacuated.

Listeners tell CFRB News that they saw huge fire balls and heard explosions as often as every few seconds. One listener says she was woken up when her house shook all the way over at Don Mills Rd.

So far there have been no reports of serious injuries.

Police are asking people who live or work in a 1.6 kilometre zone around the Sunrise Propane facility, where the explosions occurred, to leave their homes and their businesses.

Here is the area they have asked to evacuate immediately:

- Hwy. 401 to the south

- Sheppard Ave. to the north

- Keele St. to the west

- Dufferin St. to the east.

Police ask all residents of this area to leave in their vehicles, police will allow to drive out of this area. If you do not have a vehicle, there are TTC buses on the perimeter as defined above on the major streets. The buses will take you to a safe location.

Police also ask you to bring your medication, your pets and anything you may need for the course of the day.

There are also traffic closures in the area. Here is a list of the roads closed to traffic:

- Hwy. 401, both directions, from Hwy. 400 to the Don Valley Parkway

- Sheppard Ave. W. from Keele St. to W.R. Allen Rd.

- Wilson Ave. from Weston Rd. to Dufferin St.

- Keele St. from Sheppard Ave. W to Lawrence Ave. W

- W.R. Allen Rd. from Sheppard Ave. W to Wilson Ave.
