Durham Regional Police officers have been without a contract now since the beginning of the year, and the Durham Regional Police Association, their union, says talks have been too slow and too sporadic.

Another round is scheduled for this weekend, but if there's no deal, the Association says there will have to be job action.  That's what about 200 members of the DRPA met to discuss Wednesday night in Oshawa.

DRPA President Doug Cavanaugh says, while he knows it's a big request and probably wouldn't happen right away, that Durham needs hundreds more officers.
