Amber Gero's report on Chinatown restaurant with rats

Toronto's Public Health department has some explaining to do.

An inspector had visited the premises of the Happy Seven restaurant on Spadina Avenue on October 2nd and deemed it clean enough to remain open, even though there were some minor sanitation issues related to cleaning up and putting away boxes. The official says there was no evidence of a rodent problem.

On Wednesday, a local television station had footage clearly showing a rat climbing around the inside of the restaurant's front window. On Thursday morning, CFRB reporter Amber Gero watched a rat climb up the green pass sign in the window.

This is the second time this year that a Chinatown restaurant has been found to have rodent problems. Toronto Public Health says they will be sending an official to look into the matter on Thursday.
