CFRB's Katie Franzios reports on rats in Chinatown.

Public Health officials will now be inspecting an entire block of Chinatown, after a local restaurant was shut down because of a rat problem. A rat was spotted twice in the window of the Happy Seven Restaurant on Spadina by Dundas since Wednesday afternoon. The establishment has been inspected three times over the past year, ever since mice were found there last October.

The Happy Seven restaurant passed a health inspection just one week ago and although officials say it seems clean, all it takes is a hole the size of a quarter for a rat to come in.

CFRB's Katie Franzios has more.

Toronto Public Health says 41 restaurants have been closed in Toronto over the past year, six on this block alone. Of those six, three were shut down because of rats.

Inspectors will be searching the entire block to see if they can get rid of the rats and pinpoint where their main nest is.
