Legendary rock and blues guitarist BO DIDDLEY died June 2nd of heart failure. He was 79 years old.  Bo Diddley - born Ellas Otha Bates McDaniel - was such a guitar MONSTER that he even had his own musical beat - the aptly-named "Bo Diddley beat".

George Thorogood used the Bo Diddley beat on 'Who Do You Love' (a Bo Diddley song), BUDDY HOLLY used it for "Not Fade Away" - a song that the ROLLING STONES later covered.  You can also hear Bo's beat in THE WHO'S "Magic Bus".

In 1983, Bo Diddley played a pawn shop owner in the EDDIE MURPHY / DAN AYKROYD classic, "Trading Places".  In 1987, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.  And in 1989, he did those Nike "Bo Knows" commercials with athlete BO JACKSON.
